Oslo, Azure, Dublin and WCF/WF 4.0 show promise in delivering tools and technologies that will have a significant impact on the way that connected applications are developed on the Microsoft platform. Combining the features of these technologies will allow project teams to design, deliver, and host the next generation of SOA based applications.
KnowIT is developing a system is used around the world to assist mine clearance operations. Based on the latest Microsoft .net technologies, the system uses hand-held devices, GPS and laser binoculars to gather data from hazardous environments and relay it to back end systems. Reliability and the integrity and security of data are absolutely mission critical.
This session will follow a case study of applying these emerging technologies to a real world project. Challenges involving the secure and reliable communication of critical data in extreme locations will be addressed, along with proposed solutions. Demonstrations of proof-of-concept implementations will be used to illustrate the technical aspects of the presentation.
